Pastor Joseph DoegenPastorPastor Joseph graduated from Wartburg Theological Seminary in May of 2023 with his Master of Divinity just before taking the call to be Pastor at Bethany in August of 2023. Prior to seminary, Pastor Joseph studied music and religion at Luther College and spent his summers working at Upper Missouri Ministry Bible Camp in Epping, ND where he met his wife Paige. Together the two of them have two cats named Simon and River and a dog name Luz.
Pastor Joseph is passionate about living into the full expression of who God calls us to be as people of God and as a community of God. Pastor Joseph comes from a diverse religious background and has a history of Ecumenical work. He is excited to be beginning his ministry with the people of Wisconsin Dells. In his free time he enjoys playing tennis, board games, cooking, and spending time with is wife and animals. |
Cindy RandallAdministrative Assistant Cindy grew up in Wisconsin Dells. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from UW-Eau Claire, and further studied Information Processing at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College.
Cindy has worked at Bethany since 2001, having served as music director and part-time pianist. Her position in the church office began in 2014. She is the pianist at the Dells Presbyterian Church. She is retired from a lifetime of piano teaching. Cindy has two sons, Gus and Josh. She enjoys walking, reading, PBS Masterpiece Theater, day trips with husband Larry, the live music the Dells has to offer, and the latest movies on the big screen. |
Lois Kelly-PieperOrganist / Choir DirectorLois grew up in Slinger, Wisconsin and graduated from UW-Madison with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. She taught elementary and junior high music at Richfield and Slinger for 7 years before taking a teaching job in Wisconsin Dells for the next 28 years. There she met her husband, Dennis. They married in 1988 at Bethany Lutheran church and have 2 children, Chris and Kelly.
Lois has been an accompanist and organist at Bethany since her first years in the Dells and recently, choir director. Of her careers in the Dells she says, "I have been blessed to have a teaching career that allowed me to enjoy music in a special way every day and foster that enjoyment in many students. Since retiring from teaching in 2014, I feel especially fortunate to continue to have the privilege of sharing music with others at Bethany Lutheran church." In addition to family time, Lois enjoys taking walks, playing the piano, reading, doing artwork and puzzles, and cheering for the Badgers! |
Jane ChristensenOrganistJane grew up in Menomonie, Wisconsin. She spent 2 years at Ripon College, before transferring to UW-Madison to earn a BS in Pharmacy. She married her husband Scott in 1979 and moved to the Wisconsin Dells area. They have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren.
She worked as a pharmacist in Adams, Reedsburg, and Wisconsin Dells (at Bork and Kane Drug Store and Travelmart Pharmacy), and retired in 2020 after 42 years. Jane studied piano through high school, and was pianist for Sunday School for many years at Bethany, and served as a pianist for worship as well. In 2002, she started learning to play the organ, and has been taking lessons since. She currently is one of 3 organists at Bethany. Jane has been a member of Bethany since 1980, is a member of choir and Women of the ELCA. Besides studying and practicing organ, she enjoys knitting, sewing, bike riding, golf, pickleball, travel, camping, and spending time with family. She enjoys the challenge of learning organ music, both traditional and modern. “Music is an integral part of worship and the organ provides variety and instrumental support for congregational hymn singing.” |
